Niyi Yusuf is the Country Managing Director of Accenture Nigeria. Before this new position, Niyi
was the Senior Executive responsible for the Systems Integration and Technology Group of
Accenture Nigeria.
He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria with a Bachelors of Science Degree (Combined Honours) in Computer Science and Economics in 1990. He joined Accenture (the then Arthur Andersen) in 1995 after a 4 year stint with JKK – a Nigerian IT company.
He has worked in Nigeria and offshore implementing IT enabled business solutions for clients in banking, insurance, manufacturing, telecoms, public sector and oil & gas industries. Of recent, he has worked on various IT Effectiveness projects for leading companies and regulators addressingissues of enterprise architecture, multi-channel delivery, technology platform choices and management of complex change programs involving alignment of technology, people and processes to enable the business strategy.
Over the last 8 years, Niyi has been involved in the creation of key infrastructure of the Nigerianbanking industry as the program manager responsible for the establishment of Interswitch – the leading transaction switching platform, ATM Consortium – independent ATM deployer and the CRC credit bureau.
He has attended several management courses and has technical certifications in the Governance of IT (CGeIT), Business Continuity (ABCI), Project Management (PMP), IT Service Management, COBIT Foundation, Systems Integration Solution Architect and Systems Integration Delivery Lead.
Niyi has represented Accenture on the board of some companies including Interswitch, ATM Consortium and is currently a member of the Corona Schools Trust Council (a group of primary and secondary schools), a director of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group, a volunteer consultant for FATE Foundation, mentor at Youth Business Initiative, United for Kids Foundation, Ray of Hope Foundation and Junior Achievement of Nigeria amongst other education, business and entrepreneurial oriented NGOs.
At various times, has also represented the NASFAT Society of Nigeria on the Board of Tafsan Beverages as a director and also on the Governing Council of the Fountain University, Osogbo, Nigeria.
He is the president of his secondary school old students’ association – Oba Akinbiyi High School I. He is also the National Coordinator of the scholarship fund and empowerment committee of the IFE UNIVERSITY MUSLIM GRADUATES ASSOCIATION (UNIFEMGA) with responsibility for creating an endowment fund and providing scholarship grants to both indigent and diligent muslim students in the Obafemi Awolowo University – OAU. He is also a member of the capacity building committee of the Lagos chapter of UNIFEMGA charged with building skills and transferring knowledge to OAU Muslim alumni.
Niyi believes in hard work, integrity, selfless service to the community and an enduring belief and trust in God. He is married to Muinat Idowu Yusuf, also an OAU alumnus who works with MTN, the leading telecom company and they are blessed with 3 kids who are all schooling in Corona School.
